OUR STORY
It Started in a small town
Country Liberty was inspired in a town of 800 people in the middle of nowhere - Rexton, New Brunswick. That place is my home, and I'm proud of it.
I left home at sixteen to chase a hockey career, and that took me city to city, country to country - across Canada, the U.S., and Europe. Every new locker room, every new town, made me realize how unique the way I grew up actually was. Most people I met had never lived a day of it. The fresh air, the land, the people, the values - the freedom of it. I was proud of that life, and I wanted to represent it wherever I went.
the idea
The idea for Country Liberty was born while I was playing pro hockey in Salzburg, Austria. The cultural gap between where I was and where I was from hit me hard, and I started dreaming up a way to carry my home with me and share it with anyone else who lived that same life back home.
I sat with that idea for years. While I was at university, I finally stopped dreaming about it and did something about it. I printed 12 t-shirts with $400, and that was the official start of Country Liberty.
who we're for
Country Liberty is for the people I grew up with and the people I spend my life around now. People with traditional values. Family values. People who love the same kind of life I love - the land, the freedom, the small-town way of doing things, no matter what city or zip code they happen to live in.
If that's you, you're already one of us.
how we build
We make timeless pieces designed with freedom, nature, and community in mind. We ethically source our product, vet our suppliers, and care about doing this the right way - for the people who wear our products and for the world we all share.
where we are today
What started with 12 t-shirts and $400 is now stocked in 200 stores across Canada and 75 stores across the United States, plus a growing community of over 150,000 followers on Instagram.
In Canada, you'll find us at Boathouse, Pseudio, Simons, Lids, and dozens of independent retailers. In the U.S., we're carried in Scheels, Lids, Boathouse, Palmetto Moon, and a growing list of independents across the country.
something bigger
What started as 12 t-shirts and $400 in a town of 800 people has turned into something much bigger than me and much bigger than our team. We've been given the opportunity to advocate for a lifestyle and a set of values that I was always proud of - and that, it turns out, a whole lot of other people identify with too.
We've got a duty now. We're going to shout it from the mountains, and we're going to do our very best to deliver on it.
Thanks for being part of the ride.
